The surface of the |liver| features a number of impressions which serve to accomodate nearby internal organs which are nestled closely against the |liver| in the abdomen. These include the |duodenal impression|, the gastric impression (accommodating the |stomach|), and the the |renal impression| (accommodating the |kidney|).
